Public Safety Open House at Muscatine Fire Department

Have you ever wanted to get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at what the brave men and women of the Muscatine Fire Department do on a daily basis?

The Muscatine Fire Department (312 E 5th St. Ste 1 Muscatine) is hosting their 2018 Public Safety Open House this Sunday Oct 7 from 12-3 p.m.

October is fire prevention month and this year’s theme set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is “Look. Listen. Learn. Fire can happen anywhere”.

Participants will be able to tour the Fire Station, look at Fire and Emergency Apparatus and meet members of the Fire Department. There will be a smoke house on site which teaches children how to safely exit a house in a smoke-filled atmosphere, new Aerial Ladder Fire Apparatus presentation, a sprinkler trailer which shows how effectively sprinklers limit spread and extinguish fire, live fire burn cell demonstration, fire extinguisher user training, hands only CPR skill station and demonstration, as well as many other displays and activities!

Question related to the Open House can be answered by calling the Central Fire Station at (563) 263-9233.

Don’t miss this enjoyable and educational day!
