Learn more about the history and politics of Ukraine without leaving Muscatine!

Muscatine Community College (152 Colorado Street Muscatine) is hosting The History and Politics of Ukraine this Monday Oct 8 from 7-10 p.m. in the MCC Student Center.

A delegation of doctors from Muscatine’s Ukrainian sister city, Drohobych, will share the history and politics of this eastern European nation. What is Ukraine’s relationship with Russia? What is the current political climate? Find out in this fascinating presentation.

The three doctors all come from Drohobych, Muscatine’s Sister City in the Urkaine. They include: Oleksander Slabyy (chief doctor of the region and urologist), Roman Kutsii (surgeon) and Oleh Shykoriak (surgeon).  Also, with them will be Ukrainian businessman Roman Beizyk. Through a translator, the delegation will share the history and current politics of the eastern European nation.

The visit is coordinated through Muscatine Sister Cities. During their time here, the four will also meet with the Muscatine Rotary Club and with doctors at Unity Point Trinity Hospital.
