Did you know that Muscatine County currently has 5,000 people who don’t know where they are going to get their next meal? Half of those are children.

Now is the time to help! Thanksgiving in July, the community food drive hosted by United Way of Muscatine, will be wrapping up this weekend. So, there is still time to do your part!

United Way of Muscatine and Hy-Vee have teamed up together to help fill the shelves of the Salvation Army and the Muscatine County Food Pantry.  Boxes will be located at Hy-Vee (2400 2nd Ave Muscatine) this Friday Jul 27 and Saturday Jul 28 to help gather non-perishable goods. Grab some extras while you’re shopping this weekend and place the items in the collection boxes!

If you are interested in hosting your own food drive, volunteering or making a donation, contact Nichole at United Way at (563) 263-5963 or nichole@unitedwaymuscatine.org.

Let’s join together and do what we can to help correct the problem of hunger in our community.
