Muscatine Community College Presents: The Humans
Don’t miss the newest on-stage production at Muscatine Community College!
MCC’s Fall Play, The Humans, hits the stage this Friday Nov 16 at 7 p.m., Saturday Nov 17 at 7 p.m. and Sunday Nov 18 at 2 p.m., at the Muscatine Community College Theatre (152 Colorado St. Muscatine).
Just like your family Thanksgiving, this play is both dramatic and funny.
Filled with equal parts humor and hurt, The Humans is a Tony-Award-winning play from popular playwright Stephen Karam that tells the story of the quintessential family reunion: a group of people who love each other but still bicker.
The Blake family has gathered for Thanksgiving dinner at the New York City apartment of Brigid, the youngest Blake. A blue collar family living paycheck to paycheck, the Blakes are struggling with much more than just their economic state; Momo is battling Alzheimer’s, Brigid’s older sister Aimee just suffered a horrendous breakup, and Brigid is fighting to make it as a musician in the Big Apple. However, worse than these obvious obstacles are the secrets contained within the family, secrets that are just waiting to bubble to the surface while the turkey is being carved.
General public tickets are $10 and MCC students/staff/faculty/area students are FREE with proof of school ID at the door. Get your tickets today at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-humans-tickets-50885180946.
