Muscatine Celebrates the 4th of July!
Hey Muscatine, are you ready to celebrate the 4th of July?
Thanks to the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GMCCI), Muscatine will be bursting with fun family-friendly activities this Wednesday Jul 4.
The festivities will kick off with the United Way of Muscatine’s Kids First Pancake Breakfast in the Walnut Room at First National Bank of Muscatine (300 E 2nd Street Muscatine). From 8-10:30 a.m. you can come enjoy pancakes, eggs and sausage for breakfast. Donations are accepted!
From 9-9:30 there will be a Kids Parade from Pearl Plaza to Musser Public Library and HNI Community Center.
If you aren’t participating, you can come watch the Soapbox Derby from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Weigh-ins and safety checks begin at 11 a.m. and the first heat will commence at 1 p.m. with cars rolling down Third Street Hill. Live music will begin at 11 a.m. and play throughout the day at Missipi Brew (107 Iowa Ave Muscatine) with their Red, White & Brew Fest.
The Annual 4th of July Parade, themed “Red, White & Blue on the Mississippi”, will begin at 5 p.m. downtown Muscatine. If you are interested in participating in this year’s parade, visit http://www.muscatine.com/ for an entry form.
A Reading of the Declaration of Independence will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Pearl City Station on the Riverfront. The Muscatine Symphony Orchestra will perform live until dusk, when the FIREWORKS begin!
