What Can a Back-Yard Prairie Do For You?

When you turn your back yard into a prairie, there’s a lot more to enjoy than beautiful flowers. You create an entire ecosystem that differs from your surroundings.

Muscatine County Master Gardeners is hosting their October meeting this Tuesday Oct 9 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the ISU Extension Office (1514 Isett Ave. Muscatine), and they have a special guest this month. The public is invited and welcome to attend.

Make plans to attend this month’s meeting, Back Yard Prairie. Tami Schmidt transformed her yard into a prairie. At this month’s meeting, Tami will give the details of the process and show pictures of the mature natural habitat.

Master Gardeners provide home horticulture information and education to the citizens of Iowa through Iowa State University Extension programs and projects. For more information on Muscatine County Master Gardeners, follow them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/muscatinecountymastergardeners/.

Don’t miss this amazing presentation and witness what turning your own back yard into a prairie can do for nature, and for yourself.
