Come get an insider experience at the Muscatine Art Center this Thursday!

On Thursday May 31 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. the Muscatine Art Center (1314 Mulberry Ave Muscatine) will be going above and beyond by providing an introduction to the travelling exhibit, French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950, which will be on view at the Figge Art Museum from Oct 6 – Jan 7. This presentation is free to all.

French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850 – 1950, features works by all the leading Impressionists; Monet, Cezanne, Renoir and Manet and some lesser colleagues, such as Morisot, Sisley and Caillebotte, as well as artists from England, Italy and Germany who aligned themselves with the movement. Several of the artists are represented in the French Impressionism collection of the Muscatine Art Center.

Making the Connection, a 45-minute presentation by Carol Ehlers, Figge Art Museum Docent, will offer an introduction to the traveling exhibition, with background on some of the artists and their styles.
