It’s a Little House on the Prairie Celebration!

Join Silver Bell Hollow as they pay tribute to one of the most beloved book series of all time, The Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Silver Bell Hollow’s (13111 311th St. W Illinois City) Little House on the Prairie Celebration is happening this Saturday Jul 21 from 1-4 p.m.

This is a fun and educational opportunity to learn about life on the prairie through a variety of activities inspired by the classic book series. Make homemade butter, biscuits, and maple snow candy just like Laura did! Get a feel for how hard the pioneers worked in the old-fashioned wash station. Play popular pioneer children’s games like potato sack races and musical chairs. Watch pioneer craft demonstrations and make your own yarn doll and button whirligig.

Meet the alpacas of Silver Bell Hollow and watch fiber craft demonstrations such as weaving and spinning. Following the activities, guests will travel to the neighboring homestead of Don and Marilyn Andress to explore a real tall grass prairie! Marilyn will share a presentation on the wonders of the prairie and treat guests to a hayrack ride to the heart of the tall grasses to experience life as it was for Laura and her family as they settled on the prairie!

This family event is meant for all ages to enjoy! The fee for this experience is $15 per guest. To purchase your tickets today, visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b054baba72ca3f85-silver or email Dana at silverbellhollow@gmail.com.
