I’m not sayin’ it was aliens, but…

It was certainly unidentified, definitely flying and presumably an object, therefore it, by definition was a UFO, and I, and my son and his friend, saw it slowly gliding over the Mississippi River and Schwiebert Park going into Rock Island, Illinois.

Giorgio Tsaukalos, take notes…

It was a warm Monday night, July 9, just after sunset, and we were enjoying the weather and the atmosphere at the park on the river. Schwiebert is just east of the centennial bridge connecting Rock Island to Davenport, Iowa, just to the west of the Rock Island Arsenal military base, which is utilized for various tasks but isn’t known to house any experimental aircraft or anything of that type. In addition, the Quad City Airport is nowhere near the park, so any jets would be flying at a much higher altitude. There are also no hospitals nearby, which would preclude it being a helicopter, not to mention that there was no sound with the object.

We were playing in the park, when my son’s friend pointed out a pair of glowing green lights silently moving over the river at what appeared to be a low altitude. He asked me what they were. I replied that I wasn’t sure, although I thought it might be a helicopter or a drone or something of that sort.

However, the lights kept moving over the river from the Iowa side towards us, and ultimately right above us, and there were no sounds whatsoever emanating from above. Helicopters would certainly make a distinct and loud sound at that altitude, and drones presumably wouldn’t have the range to cover so much ground, as the objects continued all the way from the Davenport side over the river and on into Rock Island to the point where we could not see them as they moved into the horizon.

I thought it might be a balloon of some sort, but, again, there was no outline or indication of that.

I was able to get my phone out and get some very rudimentary and not especially high quality video of the objects, but the video did not do them justice.

As they passed into the distance, the boys and I were amused and amazed by what we had just seen.

Do I think it was some sort of strange, alien craft?

Hmmm, probably not. In all likelihood it was probably some sort of aircraft of a more terrestrial origin that we couldn’t see very well or identify due to its lack of lighting other than two small green circular lights. Or perhaps it was two craft, I don’t know.

However, by strictest definition, it was unidentified, it was flying and it was an object, so, we can now officially say we’ve seen a UFO.

Somewhere, Fox Mulder is probably disappointed in the lack of sensationalism in this story, but that’s ok, I can live without E.T. visiting. It’s been years since I had any Reese’s Pieces in the house.
